The Onlookers

The Onlookers

“The Contour Fantasy Period”
Oil on gessoed paper
Approx. 18″ x 24″
What is it that compels others to gaze?…amazement?
What is it that provokes people to peer?..astonishment? Some of us get unsolicited stares no matter what we do, or what the occasion might be. “The Onlookers” is depicted mainly in forms of colored contoured planes to resemble the eyes, ears, arms, hands, and noses of so many that have found retreat in conversation or company other than their own. The forms are given a more masculine appeal to express the boldness of their gaze, and just how audacious expressions can be when others are minding your business instead of their own.
