The Sadness of Sarai

The Sadness of Sarai

“Expressions of Empathy” (Volume I)
Oil on Canvas
Sarai’s inner spirit prematurely mourns as she confronts her subsconcious fears of losing her unborn child. Having been told by the voices of medicine that she was infertile, she has doubted the possibilities of miracles until one is bestowed upon her. A wash-like technique is used to depict the sense of Sarai’s spirit and fragility. As beautiful as she may be on the outside, it will take the miracle in which she carries on the inside to give life to Sarai’s beauty once again.
