Even on a Blue Day

“Expressions of Empathy” (Volume II)
Oil on Canvas Board
4′ x 4′
Often times geometric form serves as the confines of the room in the world around us. Here, the subdued solemn mood of a woman is boldly signified by the cubistic use of fragmented lines. As lines most often represent order, they can often be interrupted by chaos. A single tear is illustrated in the straight dripping line continuing from the subject’s face, extending to the blue floor, symbolizing a sense of unwavering sensitivity. Memories, longings, and innermost self are revealed especially, during our most somber times and reveries.
