Things Of That Nature

Things Of That Nature

“Expressions of Empathy” (Volume II)
Oil on Canvas Board
3′ x 4′
Two creatures are engaged in an interesting conversation…having tea, cookies, and wine at a table set for two upon the green. She sees him still, as witty, funny, and even foolish at times…like a monkey in a vivid circus vest and hat. Sometimes he finds her as old fashioned, stoic, and almost prudish…(not to mention her polka dotted smock she still insists on wearing). He humors himself, and imagines her having a dinosaur-shaped head, with stegosaurus like plates scaling down her back…yet they understand one another. They love and care for each other greatly. Years of experience together, and so many humorous times filled with assorted tales, have enriched their lives to discuss “things of that nature” unbeknownst to what their children may even begin to conceive.
