Yoonsil – String of Beads

Yoonsil - String of Beads

“Images of Yoonsil” (Collection)
Oil on Canvas
This composition is reminiscent of Lord Toph’s “Contour Fantasy Period.” Intense colors are primarily painted adjacent to the next color, in order to display an unabashed pureness in every hue.
The image of Yoonsil is rendered with curving strokes, and contoured lines. This has become a recognizable characteristic of Lord Toph’s style. The figure is portrayed wearing a white dress, while lying down, and holding a strand of beads. The overall appeal of this piece is whimsical, and full of life. Although the figure is in a stationary position, a sense of energetic movement is established by the flow of lines, and illuminosity of color.
